Heavy Machinery & Commercial Load Transport
An excavator sitting at the wrong site holds up every trade scheduled behind it. Getting the machine to the right spot on site matters as much as the haul. Access roads may be unpaved, gates may be locked after hours, and there may be no room to back a trailer in.
That’s why Rocky Mountain Towing & Recovery hauls heavy equipment across metro Denver and beyond so dirt work, utility installs, and foundation pours stay on schedule. Give us the machine, its weight and dimensions, the pickup and drop-off addresses, and the day you need it on site. We’ll plan the load and confirm a delivery window your foreman can work around before the machine is loaded.

When You Need Heavy Machinery Transport
Most moves fall into a few categories, and each one changes what we need to know. A dealer pickup needs a release contact, a repair shop delivery needs drop-off hours, and a disabled machine may need recovery before we can load it. Common transport jobs include:
- Moves between job sites
- Delivery to and from repair facilities
- Equipment pickup from dealerships or other locations
- Moves to yards and storage facilities
- Equipment that can’t be driven on public roads
- Disabled equipment that needs transport after recovery

Disabled & Stuck Equipment Recovery
A dozer that throws a track on a grade or a loader with a failed hydraulic line can’t be driven onto a trailer. Neither can a skid steer sunk to its frame in wet clay, which happens fast on Front Range sites after spring snow or a summer storm. We recover stuck and disabled equipment with winches and rigging sized to the machine, then load it without adding damage to the undercarriage or hydraulics.
When you call Rocky Mountain Towing & Recovery, tell us the machine’s make, model, and operating weight, what failed, and if the tracks or wheels still turn. Describe the ground around it and how close a truck can get, so we can plan the recovery before we leave the yard. If it’s leaking fuel or hydraulic fluid, tell us when you call. Once it’s loaded, we can take it to your shop, the dealer, or your yard.

Heavy Transport Throughout Metro Denver
We move equipment across metro Denver, including Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Westminster, Thornton, Commerce City, and Brighton. Heavy equipment in the region travels a handful of main routes: I-25 through the city, I-70 east and west, I-76 toward Brighton, and the I-225, I-270, C-470, and E-470 connectors. Those routes link job sites, equipment dealers, repair shops, and storage yards, and we plan each haul around their interchanges and construction zones to set realistic delivery times.
Colorado has rules that affect heavy hauls. Loads over legal width, height, or weight need CDOT oversize permits, and some routes carry time-of-day restrictions. Wider loads may also need escort vehicles. We build those into the schedule up front, so you know the real delivery day before the machine leaves the yard.
